With an academic background in naval architecture, specialising in small craft design and construction techniques coupled with nigh on a decade delivering yachts, power and sail, mono and multihulls, throughout Europe, including the North Atlantic and the Pacific covering over 185,000 Nm. I fully understand the rigours, which a yacht must be able to endure during its life.
In my capacity as a delivery skipper I have had to assess the seaworthiness of each and every vessel with respect to the intended voyage.
From this background it was a natural progression to move into surveying full time, offering the knowledge I have gained over the years to the sailing community at large.
Whilst this experience and my academic studies gave a good foundation I have further rounded my knowledge by attaining a Diploma in Small Craft Surveying through the International Institute of Marine Surveying, an organisation of which I remain a member.
I offer a comprehensive service with in depth reports detailing all issues that arise from the survey. These reports can be presented in a technical or non-technical format, as per the clients’ wishes. All reports are initially transmitted via email, with a hard copy following by post, as required.
As a surveyor who is registered member (Assoc.IIMS) of the IIMS, I follow and adhere to their guidelines on professional conduct. All reports are the sole property of the client and are not redistributed to third parties without the clients authority.
